SHIRUDO is a modern, powerful and exciting hybrid martial art derived from Karate, Judo, Hapkido and Taekwondo that has been developed over many years for today’s martial artists.
Classes are conducted in a family friendly, welcoming and positive environment, where you will learn strikes, blocks, kicks, Judo throws, break falls, take downs, BJJ grappling & ground escapes, wrist locks, arm bars & many other extremely effective self defence & control techniques. You will also have options to learn Kata, Sword, Knife Defence, Pole, Nunchaku and much more. All our classes are suitable for beginners through to more experienced martial artists and students that wish to pursue tournament competition and or a professional martial arts career.
Most traditional martial arts have been taught in school halls and wooden floor rooms without any training equipment and safe flooring for practicing throws and take down techniques. SHIRUDO is a modern day Martial Arts academy that teaches a high standard of cutting-edge techniques and training methods combined with state of the art training equipment in a safe, fully matted training facility. You will still learn all the same mind and body conditioning qualities that a traditional Martial Arts academy has to offer such as confidence, respect, fitness, flexibility, strength, tenacity and commitment to achieve black belt status if you so choose. However, with our modern hybrid style of cutting edge techniques and training methods, you will stay interested and excited through our specially designed accelerated teaching and learning processes.
SHIRUDO encourages families to get involved and train together with other families, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters training in the same class. It’s something you cannot do in other sporting activities.
“CHANGE HAPPENS HERE. WE TRAIN WITH PURPOSE.”
